Many gaming keyboards are often optimized for MMOs and MMORPGs that utilize a lot of unique functions such as items and spells. While these are perfectly suitable for use with first-person shooter games, there are not very many that are optimized specifically for first-person shooters. The HyperX Alloy FPS gaming keyboard is different in that regard. It has been designed with first-person shooter games in mind. This keyboard features a layout that saves plenty of space on my desktop for mouse movement, which is something that a lot of MMOs don’t often focus on, so this is a really nice feature. Even though it has a slim design that is meant to save all of that space, it does not sacrifice on functionality or performance in order to do so; however, what the HyperX Alloy does do is make it super easy to take on the go, making this an excellent gaming keyboard for taking to LAN marathons.

If I am given the option over quiet, soft membrane keys and loud, audible tactile keys, I am always going to go for the latter. Mechanical keyboards just seem to be more efficient for me as I can hear and feel every single movement that I make. Because of this, I always seek out mechanical keyboards to put to the test, and the HyperX Alloy FPS did not fail me. This gaming keyboard comes with Cherry MX mechanical keys that are well loved by gamers all around. They are built with impeccable quality and durability, promising high precision key contact using the gold contacts found beneath the keycaps. These mechanisms work together to provide up to 50 million keystrokes per switch. Even after my own exhaustive usage of the HyperX Alloy FPS, I have not noticed a single key that is even thinking about becoming weak.

Another thing that I do not have to worry about with the HyperX Alloy FPS is accidentally pressing the wrong key. With this keyboard, miss clicking is a thing of the past which makes me a more confident and efficient gamer overall. The HyperX Alloy FPS features a full N-key rollover that lets me press multiple keys simultaneously while still delivering swift and accurate results with no lag. A cool feature about this keyboard is that the Windows key automatically disables when I enter game mode, which is a great thing for it to do considering I often accidentally press that pesky key accidentally.

Another first-person shooter centric facet of the HyperX Alloy FPS is the fact that the keyboard highlights the WSAD keys in two different ways. While this still is going to be useful for other genres and styles of gameplay, I find that it is especially great for first-person shooter types. The WSAD keys on the HyperX Alloy come in a vivid, impossible to miss red that is vibrant and striking. Not only are these keys differently colored from the rest of the keyboard, but they also have an added texture that enhances the feel of them so that I can always find my movement keys. To finish it off, a keycap removal key came included with this keyboard so that I can easily replace these keys in the event that something happens. Learn more about various gaming keyboards here:

The WSAD movement keys are not the only keys that are shown off on the HyperX Alloy FPS. The entire keyboard can be given a nice backlight. All I have to do is choose from one of the six LED preset modes. One of these modes is a custom mode that allows me to personalize this backlight to suit the rest of my set up or to simply go along with my mood that day. This backlight allows me to confidently play in the dark as I can still easily see everything that I am doing. There are five brightness levels that I can adjust as well, making the HyperX Alloy FPS perfect for gaming both in the daytime and at night with one having just as much efficiency and ease of use as the other.
